A Budding Artist...

Today Mom allowed me to explore my creative side through "pudding art". She put some pudding on my hands and let me work my magic on a blank piece of paper. It was SUPER fun getting dirty. I think I spent most of my time trying to lick the pudding off my high chair!!!

Little Fish...

Yesterday I went swimming for the first time. I know you've seen me in my pool, but in this pool I can actually move around!
My bestest bud Jackson and his mom Sandra invited my mom and I over for a dip in their pool. The water was perfect - not too warm, not too cold. Jack showed me some tricks in the pool, like how to jump in from the side (okay, it's more like a lean, but it's pretty daring!)
I LOVED the water, and we all spent almost 45 minutes in the pool! Thanks so much Jackson and Sandra for having us over!

Up, Up, and Away!!

Ever since I learned how to pull myself up, I don't EVER want to be down again! I love to stand up on everything; the ottoman, my toys, the baby gate and then - I found the stairs!

I have figured out how to climb up the stairs from the family room to my bedroom. This opens up a whole new world to me. I LOVE IT!

BUSTED!

Up until now, my mom and dad have been pretty relaxed about baby-proofing the house. They put up a baby gate so I wouldn't fall down the stairs, but otherwise they have been naievely believing that I was "too young" to really get into anything. I sure had them fooled!

It wasn't too long after that before safety latches were installed throughout the house!

Sifton through the bog...

This morning Aunt Jess, my mom and I walked through Sifton Bog, a naturalized area right in the heart of London. We were amazed at how big it was!

During our walk we saw birds, chipmunks, a toad, and a family of deer! Can you see one?

Aunt Jess carried me in my Baby Bjorn the whole time...she was a real trooper!

We were at the bog for a whole hour. Mom and Aunt Jess got us a bit lost (but they would never admit they did).

Thanks for a fun morning Aunt Jess!

Tongue tied...

You know what's cool???....Tongues!

I love my tongue so much that I show it off to everyone I meet. I've shown it to my parents, my friends, and even Father John at church! I think he was impressed.

My Adventures on Wonderland

Today Mom and Dad took me to Adventures on Wonderland. It's an indoor playground for kids of all ages. There are tunnels and slides and even a ball pit!

I love to play in the ball pit. Every time I try to move I sink lower...
and lower
until....

... Hey! - where did my body go??

I also went on the slide, but it was too easy - baby stuff!
So Dad took me on the big slide....

WHEE!
Mom and Dad FINALLY took me in the big kid area, but it was too busy and they were worried I'd get hurt. But I did get to go in one tunnel and look out through the "bubble window".
HELLO OUT THERE!!

The next GQ swimsuit model..

My mom bought me a pool so I could play outside on those hot summer days. On Sunday I tried it out for the first time. It was a perfect day to use it at it was 31 degrees outside...ouch!

I got to wear my swimsuit for the first time (I wanted to go in au naturel but Dad wouldn't let me). I must say I look pretty handsome!

The water was perfect...not too hot, not too cold. I played with my rubber duckies and my stacking cups. I don't know how to stack the cups, but it sure is fun drinking the water from them!

Future musician?

Mom and Dad have often wondered who I would take after; mom the music teacher, or dad the engineer. Well, I put that question to rest the other day when mom caught me playing the recorder. I took it out of its case and was able to make a noise on the first try!! It wasn't the best noise mind you, but it was mine and I liked it!!!

Swingin'!

On May 17th, Mom's friend Shauna invited us on a playdate at the Saturn Park with her two children, Maddison and Brody. I had never been on a swing before, so Mom made sure she brought the camera (of course!)

I had SO MUCH FUN on the swing! I wasn't scared at all. It was WAY more fun than my baby swing, because my legs could move and swing at the park.

Higher Mom, HIGHER!!

Lovely Lucia

On Mother's Day weekend I got to meet another new friend. My mom's long-time friend Cristen gave birth to Lucia Celeste on February 26th 2006 (hey, nice middle name!!). They live in Michigan and, since we couldn't get there to see them, they ended up coming our way!

Lucia is very beautiful. She has dark hair and big blue eyes (although her mom doesn't know if they'll stay blue).

We got to have a sleepover with Lucia and her mom and dad, then we went out for breakfast. They had so much fun that they came back on Mother's Day for dinner!

I'm so glad I finally got to meet Lovely Lucia (that's what I like to call her).

Sticky situation!

I have already told you how much I love food. I never knew just how much until mom and dad gave me a teething cookie to eat. It was SOOOOOOO good I just couldn't stop eating it!
Things got a bit messy while I was eating, as you can see!

It got so bad that mom and dad had to put me straight in the tub! Now I'm only allowed to have a cookie on bath night!

Movin' and shakin'

Well, I'm 8 months old now and I have learned to crawl. I just love the feeling of the wind whipping through my hair as I fly across the room from toy to toy. Okay, maybe I can't go that fast, but it's great to be able to get somewhere! Now, I may make crawling look easy, but believe me, it's hard work!Whew! I'm exhausted!

I've also learned how to kneel. I love nothing more than to play on my knees at my activity table. I'm really getting to be a big boy now!

My new friend Taylor!

On March 2nd 2006, my mom's bestest friend Eryn gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Taylor James Dawdy. I wasn't allowed to visit him in the hospital, so I had to wait 6 weeks to meet him! I was so excited for that day to finally come! He is super cute and really smart for his age. He's already holding his head up!
I love my Auntie Eryn and my newest friend Taylor.

Party at my crib!

I have a lot of fun in my crib. My gramma bought me an Ocean Wonders aquarium that is attached to the side of my crib. I have learned how to turn the music on and off, as well as pull the lever and roll the ball. I can even do it with my feet! Sometimes I like to just sit and play in my crib for a while!
